Bon appe'tit

The other day my son and his girlfriend prepared dinner for us. The most regular activities add so much to our lives.

It’s been a while since we have had this kind of joy in our home. Don’t get me wrong, we are doing better every day after losing Richard. I don’t know what chapter we are on in this journey. But I know this; we are not standing idle and lifeless. There are great things on the other side of any difficult circumstance.

I grew up always having dinner together at the table. I’ve continued to see the importance of it. I don’t ever want my life to be so over occupied that there’s no time to connect over a meal.with family and friends.

So many people say they are too busy to sit down together and share in conversation. I think that causes a wedge to slowly separate lives.

I know it’s a fast paced world we live in and it isn’t always possible to sit down and share a meal. But it is something we can choose to prioritize.

You don’t have to make homemade pasta and homemade marinara sauce that takes several hours like we did that evening. You can easily throw together a great sandwich!
