We're only trying to plan a wedding!
Ever tried to plan and actually HAVE a wedding during a Pandemic? You probably haven’t unless you lived in the early 1900’s.
Obviously there are no guidelines available. Everything, EVERYTHING anyone does during this time is courageously taking one step at a time, stopping to regroup then repeat as many times as necessary.
On a positive note, this sort of season is certain to build character. We have had and still do for a while ample time to think about what’s really happening in our lives, our families, our church, our work and OUR RELATIONSHIPS.
I say relationships because who really wants to address the elephant in the room when everything is moving along okay or good enough? You know so-so.
Again I will say there is a plethora of powerful opportunities we can all be a part of; either by invitation or initiation. It’s not a time to ignore people or situations on any level. Have you taken notice all the amazing people who are stepping up to the plate to make a difference? Try to make the most of your time because you can’t get it back. Once it’s used it can NOT be recycled.
Now as far as the wedding, keeping your eye on the prize is key. By the prize, I mean the value of the greatest Commandment of all; Love. Love doesn’t mean life is easy. It means that love is strength. Love endures. Well, why don’t I just say it like this, if you’ll allow me to quote a great Book.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."
Ever. (My personal comment.)
For my son and his Bride, all this preparation means they have greatly exceeded the normal.
Awesome job!!
