Home Life Declarations

#6 of 8

Dear Friends;

Everyone needs a place to lay their head. A place they call home. A place they can feel safe. As we look around our cities it is difficult to see that many are not experiencing that. Yes, we care for our families and then it is important to look beyond to see how we can be of help to those who do not. That is the action of the church to do so.

Home Life Declarations

 1.       Our home is a place where our family likes to be.

Scripture:  1st Chronicles 16:27  Splendor and Majesty are before him strength and joy in his

dwelling place.

Proverbs 3:33  The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of

the righteous.

 2.       We pray together as a family and our children are taught the word of God.

Scripture: Joshua 24:15 As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

Proverbs 3:3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write

them on the tablet of your heart.

3.       Our home has an atmosphere of peacefulness and is an oasis for those who are weary.

Scripture:         Isaiah 32:18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed

places of rest.

Laminations 5:21   Restore us to yourself O’Lord, that we may return; renew our days as of

old.

Psalms 80:3  Restore us O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.

 4.       Our home is full of laughter, a place where others are welcome and encouragement is spoken to each other.

Scripture: Psalm 126:2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.

Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

 5.       I walk in the fruit of the Spirit

Scripture: Galations 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,

goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.

 6.       I do not expect my husband/wife/children to be perfect.  The way I treat them is not dependent on my feelings.

Scripture: Romans 8:8 We walk in the Spirit.  We don’t cater to the impulses (feelings) of our carnal

nature.
