March to the Table
The other morning as I woke up, God impressed upon me these four words: "MARCH TO THE TABLE". I actually heard these words quite loudly. I didn't know what to think at first but when this happens I've learned to say "Okay Lord I'm listening. Then I pray, reflect and study. God is great at dropping something in my mind and heart when I least expect it. That works well for me.
At our church, Redemption to the Nations, in Chattanooga, TN we have every month or so an evening called "Come to the Table." Everyone is welcome to come throughout the community and finds a welcoming seat at any of the hosted and decorated tables.
Sometimes it can be a battle march to arrive at "the table" because of heavy burdens. Other times we simply walk or glide right up to it and have a seat. Once there I like to look around at all the people and consider the different God given gifts. Beautiful. No matter how you get to the table to sup with others, it's so worth it.
God has given each of us our 'marching orders.' Our purpose here on Earth is to find those orders and carry them out. Those orders acknowledge our special gifts - Soren Kierkegaard
1 Samuel 17:20
So David got up early in the morning, left the flock with someone to keep it, loaded up, and set out as Jesse had instructed him. He arrived at the perimeter of the camp as the army was marching out to its battle formation shouting their battle cry.
