What if "Smile" was a Color

If Crayola made a crayon named “smile” what do you think it would look like?

You might think it’s a silly question, but I don’t.

I’m so thankful to see people’s beautiful and maskless faces!

When I see people smile, their eyes light up, their voice is musical, excitement sings out and catches hold of the wind. The next thing that naturally happens is an invitation for others to be part of a conversation.

Strangers connecting for no other reason than to be friendly.

Then off we go. With a lighter spring in our step and a bit of refreshing, we remember how much we missed each other.

I suppose a smile would look to me like what an emotion of happiness feels like.

Okay, so what does that mean you may ask.

Well, you can use your imagination to consider the initial question; If Crayola made a crayon named “smile” what do you think it would look like?

It would be a warm color like a sunny day.

Bright colors like the aurora borealis shimmering all wavy-like.

How about a cool blue and green reflecting the surrounding forest on a smooth-as-glass lake.

Oh, and every color of flower you have ever laid eyes on all on a single flower!

The orange flame of a camp fire meeting a puffy marshmallow on a stick.

It’s like being the first one to see the intricate colors of a butterfly emerging from its cocoon.

The giggle of a child as they splash their feet in a mud puddle.

The sound of a mighty waterfall as it meets the rocks and earth below with a resounding force.

Horseback riding on the beach as the sand kicks up while you gallop along the sand.

The night sky as on a canvas of black and sprinkled with glitter.

A pond of coy fish as the morning sun sparkles upon them like a rainbow had fallen from the sky.

The first time your granddaughter greets the world by opening her eyes.

My list could go on and on.

What do you think the color “smile” would look like?

Job 9:27

“If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression, and smile.”

Ezekiel 1:28

As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.
