Nature and Community Declarations

#3 of 8

The raw beauty that surrounds us is spectacular. If we would make ourselves just stop for even a simple moment; take a breath and notice. There is something about majestic snow capped mountains and crashing waves upon beach and rocks that draws me in. This is only two places of hundreds I could mention.

Then there is the beauty in a Community of people. No two faces or personalities are alike. Similar yes, but exactly the same? No. When my eyes meet another persons eyes, it’s so easy to be drawn into the possibilities of connecting with them; in conversation and cultural experiences. I am surrounded with people of every nation and it is amazing.

Welcome all you can learn from places you visit and people you meet.

Declarations Nature and Community

 1.       I will be a light for my neighbors and be involved in my community. I embrace instead of disregard.

Scripture:  Matthew 5:14-16     You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

2.       I am humble and repentant of my sins.

Scripture:  2nd Chronicles 7:14  If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

3.       There is peace and security in my city.

Scripture:  Psalm 122:6-7          Pray for the peace of Jerusalem;  “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.

4.       The food I buy and prepare is healthy for my family. I share with those in need.

Scripture:  Genesis 1:11           Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation;  seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.

5.       I enjoy the natural beauty around me and am a good steward of it.

Scripture:  Numbers 35:33, 34            Do not pollute the land where you are.  Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.”
