Governmental Declarations

Hello everyone!

There are many roads we can take in our lifetime. Wouldn’t you agree? I find it beneficial to try and understand “WHY” I think “WHAT” I think. I cannot be overcome by random, uncontrolled and meaningless thoughts. I must search for sincere solutions and direction that make a well-meaning difference. It is helpful as well to ask myself this question: What are the intensions of my thoughts and what’s the best action to follow them up with? Faith in God is always foundational.

Thirteen years ago, I wrote 8 Declarations. Over the years I often refer to them, re-read them and pray. It is encouraging in itself to make declarations and speak them aloud. I will share each one individually on my web page. This is the first one.

GOVERNMENT DECLARATIONS #1

1.         I show respect to those in authority where I work.

Scripture:  Titus 3:1-2          I am subject to rulers and authorities, obedient, ready to do whatever is good. I slander no one, I am peaceable and considerate, and I show true humility toward all men.

CURRENT NOTE from Denise Sherriff. I wrote this Declaration in 2008. I am posting it once again today July 31, 2021, for such a time as this. Please read the below scripture very prayerfully and carefully. It is often misunderstood. I have included a video from a pastor at Calvary Chapel Signal Hill, California, who speaks passionately about this scripture. Feel free to visit the below site after you read the scripture.  Scripture:  Romans 13:1-7 Submission to Governing Authorities

1Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.   2Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.   3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.   4For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.   5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.   6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

 2.         I vote in elections and give what I owe.

Scripture:  Romans 13:7                I give everyone what I owe him:  If I owe taxes, I pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

3.         I pray for all those in leadership throughout the world.

Scripture:  Jeremiah 29:7   I seek peace and prosperity for my city.  We pray to the Lord for it, because the Lord Almighty says that if it prospers, I too prosper.
